SERVICES AND FEES
FULL COLLEGE UNDERGRAUATE APPLICATIONS COUNSELING
Starting at any time from when they enter high-school up until their senior year, I help a handful of college applicants, usually only 6, guiding them in their academic and extra-curricular life until they become succesful college students. Having only a handful of students allows me to provide the necessary dedication that applicants need to go through this hectic and stressfull process. To choose the applicants that I will invest my time in, I evaluate English proficiency, academic record, non-academic record, and family background.
My fees are payable only in USD, with special discount rates for multiple applicants or other reasonable causes..
Through as much time as we need (personal sessions and phone/internet), my help includes step-by-step guidance on how to construct a rich life and a rich resume that will be well looked upon by colleges and universities. I do everything from motivating students academically and recommending extra-curriculars, summer courses, and activities, to guidance on: SAT and TOEFL preparation, career selection (based on talents and passions), college selection, interviews, correspondence, recommendation letters, student transcripts, legalizations, translations, US embassy procedures, and more. I also guide you on what NOT to do. Together, we fill in the baffling application forms. Most important of all, I help you with the essays.
For the essays, which is the most complicated part, you need not worry. Essays are my specialty and I doubt that anyone in the country can do them better (talent & experience). I help you choose the topic, set the structure, go through the drafts, revise, and grammar check to make sure that your essays fully communicate your ideas and feelings in a clear and memorable way. I know how university admissions departments think and what they expect from an essay, and it is very different from what a mere English teacher or your English-speaking uncle will tell you.
I am an accredited College Admissions Counselor, member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the Independent Educational Consultants Association. I also visit college campuses on a regular basis and I attend all major educational conferences to be in the forefront of college admission trends. I am not a consulting firm, so I will help you personally. It is your life, your future and a huge college investment. Don't ruin it by getting the wrong advice.
The standard flat fee is $5000. This fee covers from one (1) to eight (8) applications. Extra applications are $1000 each
NOTE: For price comparison, high-level independent counselors such as Katherine Cohen and Michelle Hernandez charge around $30.000 per student. What I offer my students is MORE PERSONAL and MUCH cheaper! Oh, and so far, I have a 100% success rate to students' target universities. I get them into the best universities that their grades, test scores, and personality will allow, and sometimes even more. When students follow my advice, they get in.
GRADUATE STUDENTS
For graduate students (MBA, LLM, MA, MFA, MP, etc), even though the level of work and knowledge required is obviously much higher, the fees and packages are the same as the ones for undergaduates. However, there are no discounts for the same obvious reasons.
I am full nearly full for 2011, but there are still a spots available for 2012, 2013 an 2014. |
ESSAY HELP
For those students that only require choosing, creating, strengthening and/or correcting their essays to meet the standards of admissions committees, the fee per essays are $300 (500 word limit), $400 (501 to 800 words) and $500 (801 to 1500 words). For price comparison, please compare to www.essaysolutions.com or any other essay revising service. Besides, the others only check them, not help you write them.
GENERAL CONSULTATION
This is for those students that will do their own applications, but need help in getting started. I will study students' profiles, including vocational analyses to see if their profiles match their aspirations. I will suggest colleges that make good matches for them. I will also provide the steps to watch out for, the dates, and the insider tips that only experienced counselors know. I will give them a class on what admissions offices really want to hear when they ask those strange essay questions. In all, I will talk to them like a close friend, letting them know the "DO's and DONT's" of the college application process and answering all their questions. My mission is to get them enthusiastically jump-started and save them a lot of time and stress. The fee for this package is $1000.
PRIVATE ENGLISH & MATH TUTORING
For English preparation, I work together with UCLA History Major and Certified ESL teacher Chelsea Olson. She prepares my future college applicants in standard American English, so they may reach the adequate level to be competitive. For math, I have either a course tailored specifically for my applicants at MBA Center, or private lessons with the renowned math teacher Yolanda Gallipoli.
NOTES ON PAYMENTS
Payments for college applicants (undergraduates and graduates) may be in two parts if necessary, one at the beginning of the application process and the other near the end. For tutored students, it is at the beginning of the school year. Payments are by check, transfer or deposit to a US bank account.
